DESCRIPTION:The gem5 simulator is a widely used tool for microarchitectural
research\, but often incurs prohibitive execution times. gem5 mitigates t
his cost through checkpoint-based resumption\, yet existing checkpoint-gen
eration mechanisms remain slow\, non-portable\, or both---significantly li
miting iterative hardware-software exploration.\n\nWe introduce **QUICK**
 (**Q**EM**U** **I**nternal **C**hec**k**pointing for gem5)\, a framework t
hat enables fast\, automated\, and deterministic generation of gem5-compat
ible checkpoints directly within QEMU.\nQUICK integrates full-system check
 pointing into QEMU’s TCG engine\, capturing architectural\, memory\, and
essential device state without external orchestration. QUICK substantiall
y reduces checkpoint-generation overhead while preserving existing gem5 wo
rkflows\, enabling scalable and systematic microarchitectural studies.\n\n
Initial validation demonstrates correct cross-simulator state transfer and
  consistent workload resumption.
