DESCRIPTION:This work presents the first design and evaluation of the stand
 ard RISC-V Control-Flow Integrity (CFI)\nextensions. The Zicfiss and Zicfi
 lp extensions protect vulnerable software from control-flow hijacking thro
 ugh shadow stack and landing pad mechanisms. We integrate dedicated hardwa
 re support for both extensions into the open-source CVA6 core. Synthesis i
 n 22 nm FDX technology shows only 1.0% area overhead\, while evaluation on
  the MiBench automotive benchmark subset reports up to 15.6% runtime overh
 ead.
